All India Anti-Terrorist Front chief Maninderjit Singh Bitta and former health minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla paid tributes to police officer Kawal Ranbir Gill, who was killed during the disturbed era of the state, at Gheo Mandi Chowk.

While addressing the gathering, Bitta said the officers of the Punjab Police fought against the terror with courage. Punjab has earned peace with great efforts, he said.

He welcomed the move of India and Pakistan to open the Kartarpur corridor but raised objection on the activities of Gupal Singh Chawala. He advised the government to keep a check on such elements to ensure no threat to the peace of the state.

Laxmi Kanta Chawla also paid tribute to KRS Gill and remembered the black days of Punjab.
