Special drive launched in Amritsar to make CM Health Scheme card

The district administration has launched a special campaign to prepare cards under the Chief Minister Health Scheme in Amritsar. The initiative has been started to ensure that maximum families benefit from the health insurance scheme.

Deputy Commissioner Dalwinderjit Singh said that the district administration has set up 58 special facilitation camps in villages and urban areas of the district to help residents make their health scheme cards. He said that apart from these camps, the cards are also being prepared at 544 Common Service Centres across the district.

In addition, the facility is available at all divisional and sub-divisional hospitals. People can also get their cards made at the Seva Kendra located in the District Administrative Complex. The Deputy Commissioner said that under the Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana, every family in the state will be eligible for free medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh annually. Beneficiaries will be able to avail treatment not only in government hospitals but also in reputed private hospitals.

He added that 89 well-known private hospitals in the district have been empanelled under the scheme for providing free treatment. Beneficiaries can choose any of these listed hospitals to receive medical care under the health insurance programme.

Dalwinderjit Singh said that at least two members of a family must visit the centre together to get the card made. A family member below 18 years of age must carry a birth certificate and Aadhaar card, while members above 18 years must bring their voter card and Aadhaar card.

The DC appealed to the residents to get their cards made so that they can benefit during medical emergencies.
