Stray animal hits car, youth loses life

A person lost his life and two others were injured after their car met with an accident on the Patti-Valtoha road near Varnala village, 35 km from here, last night. According to information, a stray animal suddenly came on the road and collided with the car. The driver lost control while trying to avoid collision.

The deceased has been identified as Harman Singh (22) of Manochahal Kalan. The injured are Khushwinder Singh and Gagandip Singh of the same village. The three, who worked as disc jockey (DJ), were returning after attending a function in an Indica car (PB17A7018).

Near Varnala village, a stray animal suddenly appeared and the driver lost control resulting in the car turning turtle. People nearby rushed to help them and took them to the Patti Civil Hospital. Harman Singh succumbed to his injuries. Others are under treatment.

The Patti sadar police have lodged a report under Section 174 of the CrPC.

Local residents said stray animals had become a menace, resulting in frequent minor and major mishaps in the area.
