The district unit of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Punjab, on Tuesday staged a dharna in front of the local District Administrative Complex (DAC) against the alleged wrong policies of the Centre and the state government. A large number of women also participated in the dharna.

While addressing on the occasion, Satnam Singh Manochahal and other leaders of the committee talked of the demands and problems of the farmers and the labour class. The speakers stressed on forming the laws on the MSP on all crops.

The leaders condemned the ruling BJP government’s efforts to protect those accused of killing farmers at Lakhimpur Kheri. They also condemned the Union Government for working against the federal system of the country by interfering in the state affairs.

They attacked the AAP for its poor functioning and said the party leaders made big promises with the voters during the election campaign but all these were proving to be an empty rhetoric.—
