Tarn Taran village resident’s house attacked at night
Neelam Kaur (50), a resident of Balehar village falling under Bhikhiwind police station, had to face severe harassment in getting a case registered against the accused who attacked her family at night about two weeks back causing damage to the house and the car besides other precious household goods.
She said here on Saturday that on January 18, the car of his son was brushed by the motorcycle of Karan Singh of the same Balehar village in Bhikhiwind township. A verbal duel ensued but it was settled on the spot. Neelam Kaur said that Karan Singh who was armed with traditional weapons, along with his father Prem Singh Pena, brother Gurlal Singh besides his other associate Mahanbir Singh and brother Dhalwinder Singh forcibly entered her house at night in rage. The assailants threatened the family members and damaged the building, smashed their car and other household articles. The family members escaped by hiding themselves in the rooms of the house.
Neelam Kaur said that the family reported the incident to the police on the helpline number 100 and submitted a complaint to the police the next morning. She said the family members approached the SHO, Bhikhiwind, DSP and SSP also to get a case registered regarding the attack but the police was in no mood to give them justice under compulsions.
Neelam Kaur said she had to visit the offices of senior police officials and the police registered a case on Friday after their efforts. ASI Lakhbir Singh, in-charge of Sursing police post under Bhikhiwind police station, said a complaint was lodged on Friday.
