Punjab Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar laid the foundation stone for two tubewell pumps to be installed at the bus stand and at Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Park in Patti town on Saturday.

Addressing a public gathering on the occasion, the minister said that with the installing of these tubewell pumps, 100 per cent of the localities falling under the Patti Municipal Council area would be covered with water supply facility. To supply water to the new localities, a 14-km underground pipeline is to be laid for which work has been started. The minister said that the project is to be completed at a cost of Rs 4.52 crore and the whole population of Patti town would get clean water, a long-standing demand of the residents.

In addition to this, sops like 600 units of free power, Schools of Eminence, Aam Aadmi Clinics and other projects of the state government were highlighted by the minister.

Senior AAP leaders, sarpanches, officials of the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board (PWSSB) also addressed the gathering, highlighting the different welfare schemes of the state government.
