Training workshop held on safe child birth

The Health Department organised a special training workshop on safe childbirth at the conference hall of Civil Hospital here. The workshop was held under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr Satinderjit Singh Bajaj.

Addressing the participants, District Family Welfare Officer Dr Neelam Bhagat said that timely registration of pregnant women, regular antenatal check-ups, proper health facilities during childbirth and timely referral of high-risk cases can significantly reduce mortality rate during delivery. She stressed that awareness and preparedness at every stage of pregnancy are key to ensuring the safety of both mother and child. Dr Bhagat informed that the training focused on staff nurses working in labour rooms and gynaecological wards. The aim was to equip them with practical skills to handle complications and emergencies during childbirth in an effective manner.
