The Uday Care Trust, a non-profit organisation, took out a march from the Town Hall to Golden Temple over climate change. The objective of the march was to make people aware of day-to-day changes being observed in climate which may prove to be harmful for mankind.

The activity was also in solidarity with the series of global climate strike being held by activists to raise concern against climate change. “We planned this strike for Amritsar after researching about the place and it’s a condition where we found it necessary to aware people regarding the climate change. It’s not only the one place that requires any initiative like that but other states and cities too where we are running our projects too. In Amritsar, we motivated people to plant trees and stop using plastic so that they can save the mother earth. Also, the people participated in a very well way and have an amazing response,” said Sandy Khanda, a representative of the NGO.

Rama Mahajan, a counsellor and a social influencer from Amritsar, encouraged people to plant more and more trees. The NGO works in the field of child education and menstrual hygiene awareness, besides environmental issues.
