Two booked on assault, eve-teasing charges

AMRITSAR: The police have booked two persons for alleging eve-teasing a school girl and assaulting her mother in the Ghraninda area here on Monday.

The police have booked two persons for alleging eve-teasing a school girl and assaulting her mother in the Ghraninda area here on Monday.

The suspects have been identified as Honey and Amrit Singh, both residents of Bhakna Village.

In his complaint, the victim told the police that her 15-year-old daughter was a student of Class XII at a government school.

She said, “At 3:20 pm, I visited the school to pick up my daughter. When we were heading toward home on our scooter, the suspects started teasing my daughter. I honked the horn and they turned towards us. They misbehaved with us and intercepted our scooter. We fell off the scooter. They even slapped me and pulled my dupatta.”

On a complaint of the woman, a case under Sections 354-A and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the suspects. No arrest has been made so far.

Two arrested with 100-gm heroin

Tarn Taran: Two persons were arrested after 100 gram of heroin was recovered from their possession at a naka in Kad Gill village, six km from here, on the Tarn Taran-Jandiala road on Monday evening.

However, one of the suspects managed to give the police the slip.

The suspects have been identified as Banti of Waraiach village and Narinder Parkash Nindi of Doburji. Harpreet Singh Billu of Kalake managed to escape from the spot.

They were traveling in the car (PB 10EC 0709), which has been impounded by the police. A case under Sections 21, 25, 29, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the suspects at the Sadar police station. — OC
