checking operation near Chak Fateh Khan village here on Saturday.

The arrested accused have been identified as David Masih and Harpreet Singh, alias Har, both residents of Jajja village. The police also seized a black Hyundai Verna car bearing registration number PB-35-AD-6262 from their possession.

According to the police, a team from the Bhindi Saidan police station was conducting checking of vehicles when they noticed a black car approaching with two youngsters inside. On suspicion, the vehicle was stopped and searched, leading to the recovery of the contraband.

A case under sections 21, 25, 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the Bhindi Saidan police station in this regard, and further investigation is underway to establish the forward and backward links of the arrested accused.
