Two kids drown in Tarn Taran

TARN TARAN: The bodies of two children, who drowned in the village pond in Rattoke village, 45 km from here, were recovered by the residents on Saturday. They drowned on Friday evening.

The bodies of two children, who drowned in the village pond in Rattoke village, 45 km from here, were recovered by the residents on Saturday. They drowned on Friday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Arman Singh (4), son of Ranjit Singh, and Aminder Singh (5), son of Palwinder Singh, of Zira. Aminder was the son of Ranjit’s sister Rajbir Kaur. Rajbir Kaur and her husband are differently abled.

Harjit Singh Grewal, SP (Investigation), said the boys went to the pond and entered into it. Rajbir Kaur and her husband Palwinder Singh had come to the residence of Ranjit as his wife had delivered a baby a few days ago.

The bodies were cremated in the presence of villagers, said Kabal Singh, a village elder.
