The police have arrested seven persons, including two women, with drugs in various cases in the past 24 hours.
The police arrested Rajni (40) of Harijan colony in Gujjapura and recovered 18-gm heroin, an electronic scale and Rs15,000 of drug money from her possession. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against her. She was produced in a court, which sent her to police remand.
However, her accomplice, identified as Ajay of Gujjapura, managed to give the police the slip. The police said efforts were on to arrest him.
Similarly, the police nabbed Bholla Mahato with 400 gm of ganja and Rs1.12 lakh of drug money. Abhimanyu Rana, SHO, Sadar police station, said the suspect was nabbed from near Ganda Singh Wala.
In another case, the police arrested three persons, including a woman, while consuming drugs. The suspects have been identified as Sajan of Navi Abadi, Karan Mehra of Batala and Palak of Ranjit Avenue. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against them. The police also recovered a silver paper soaked with heroin, a lighter and a Rs10 note from their possession.
Likewise, the police nabbed Balwinder Singh of Mahindra Colony and Munish Sabharwal of Hall Gate with 6-gm and 2-gm heroin, respectively.
