Taking to X, Bittu said the project was not just about rebuilding a bridge, but about linking Amritsar’s rich heritage with its future growth.

“Inspected the progress of the iconic Rigo Bridge reconstruction in Amritsar today. By replacing a century-old bottleneck with a modern engineering marvel, we are not just pouring concrete—we are fueling the growth of the Holy City,” he said.

He noted that the Rs 48-crore project aimed to replace the century-old bridge, which had become a major bottleneck due to increasing traffic pressure over the years. The new structure is being built using advanced technology and improved infrastructure to meet the city’s growing needs.
