On Sunday, the MC has shifted residents of unsafe buildings to alternatives shelters for safety reasons. On the direction of MC Commissioner Sonali Giri, the Municipal Town Planning Wing (MTP) also issued notices to residents of unsafe buildings to vacate the houses.

There are several unsafe buildings in the walled city that have been declared unsafe years ago. But the MC has not been able to demolish them.
