US Sikh delegation meets Harjinder Singh Dhami in Amritsar, calls for SGPC to set up centre in Yuba City

A visiting delegation of Sikh sangat from the USA sought the opening of a Dharam Prachar Centre in Yuba City, California.

They made this demand to SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami and appealed to establish a religious propagation centre in their region soon. The delegation, led by Dalbir Singh Gill, also paid obeisance at the Golden Temple.

Other members of the delegation included Gurmukh Singh Dhanoa, Lakhwinder Kaur, Jinderjit Kaur Gill, Charanjit Kaur Gill and Kuldeep Kaur Dhanoa.

Speaking on the occasion, Dalbir Singh Gill said the SGPC, being the representative body of the entire Sikh community, should continuously be active for the propagation of religion in the country and abroad. He said US resident Didar Singh Bains and his family had given land to the Shiromani Committee in the past in Yuba City and it is the demand of the Sikh sangat to establish a centre at that place. He assured that the Sikh sangat of the USA will provide all kind of support to the SGPC.

Dhami assured the visiting delegation that the Sikh organisation is always committed to work according to the feelings of the sangat and said that continuous efforts were being made to further spread Sikh faith with the support of sangat.

He elaborated that the establishment of a centre on the land given to the SGPC in Yuba City is on the agenda and necessary action will be taken on it soon. He appealed to the sangat of USA to come forward to support the SGPC for this work.

Among others, OSD Satbir Singh, secretary Partap Singh, personal secretary Shahbaz Singh, deputy secretary Harbhajan Singh Vakta, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib, Bhagwant Singh Dhangera and Superintendent Nishan Singh were present on the occasion.
