Amritsar, July 16

With the rising awareness regarding animal care amongst people, there is a dire need of more and more veterinary doctors in the country, said Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, honorary secretary, Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) on Monday.

Chhina presided over the oath taking ceremony at the Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (KCVAS).

More than 70 students, who passed out from the college after completing their four-year Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences (BVSc), course took oath as professional veterinarian and vowed to serve the animal world with all care and dedication.

Meritorious students and toppers were awarded prizes and certificates. Chhina highlighted the significance of veterinary education and said this is one of the most noble professions, as animal care and health is emerging as a major field throughout the world. “Unlike humans, animals can not communicate their suffering faced during illness and doctors have to identify the symptoms and take help of the minute diagnosis. It makes the work of the veterinarians more challenging.”
