Amritsar, August 14
The Sai Mian Mir Foundation, an organisation working on the Indo-Pak friendship and peace, will remember 10 lakh Punjabis, who were killed in riots during the Partition days on August 15 in 1947.
Harbhajan Singh Brar, president of the foundation, said Punjabis paid a heavy price for the country’s independence. More than 10 lakh persons were killed and crores were displaced in 1947.
“We forget all those persons who were murdered in communal riots. No one remembers them in India and Pakistan. We should remember the victims of the Partition,” said Brar.
