The CIA staff have brought weapon supplier Preet Phagwara on a production warrant for the second time.
Earlier, he was brought in connection with the killing of notorious gangster Rajat Malhotra, alias Karan Masti, and arrest of Amanpreet Singh Rinka after firing.
Preet Phagwara and Raja Pahariya were brought on a production warrant from Delhi. The Delhi police had nabbed them for weapon smuggling.
During interrogation, they had revealed that they used to provide illegal firearms to Punjab-based gangsters after procuring these from a Ghaziabad-based weapon supplier, who was known as Karnal.
Phagwara had supplied another consignment of illegal weapons in Tarn Taran and Amritsar rural area around three months ago. The police are looking into links in weapon smuggling.
Vavinder Mahajan, in charge, CIA staff, said during the interrogation, the names of over six criminals in the border belt had come up. He said they were looking into it.
