Woman accuses husband of assault

Amandeep Bhardwaj, a resident of Chheharta, and her family members on Thursday staged a protest at Bhandari Bridge, accusing her husband of assaulting and throwing her, along with two children, out of the house.

She alleged that her husband, who worked as a security guard, had extra-marital relations and therefore, he was pressurising her for divorce. She said she had complained to the police, but they failed to take appropriate measures. A police official who reached the spot said the matter pertained to Chheharta police station and they had been informed about it.

Police personnel from Chheharta police station arrived and noted her complaint and assured her of appropriate action in the case.
