Amritsar, October 14

A married woman has accused three neighbours of raping her. She had gone to answer the nature’s call on October 7 evening when the crime took place. The case was registered on Saturday evening.

Those booked were identified as Jassa Singh and his two brothers Gurpreet Singh and Baljit Singh of Bhindi Saida village. No arrest has been made so far.

The 46-year-old victim said she was going to fields when the accused dragged her away. She alleged Jassa Singh and Baljiit caught hold of her and Gurpreet Singh raped her. She said when her mother-in-law reached the spot, the accused fled.

Harsandeep Singh, SHO, Bhindi Saida police station, said the case was registered following the orders of a local court. He said the victim did not approach the police after the incident. The medical examination report is yet to come.

He said Inspector Balwinder Kaur would be investigating the case. She had recorded the statement of the victim and further probe was under way.

Sections 341 (wrongfully restraining), 376 (rape) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC have been slapped.
