AMRITSAR: The Ajnala police have arrested a person for “stalking, assaulting and sexually harassing” a married woman.

The Ajnala police have arrested a person for “stalking, assaulting and sexually harassing” a married woman. He has been identified as Bohar Singh, a resident of Rokhe village.

The 32-year-old victim, in her complaint to the police, alleged that she was returning on a scooter after her duty hours a few days ago when the accused intercepted her near Isapur village and made sexual gestures. She returned home but didn’t tell anyone about it.

According to her, she was going to her office on Saturday when the accused stopped her again at around 7.45 am and resorted to indecency. He caught hold of her and tore her clothes. Meanwhile, her husband came from behind in a car. When he came to her rescue, the accused fled away. Later, the police arrested him.

Teenager assaulted

The Chatiwind police booked Ravi Singh of Varpal for “sexually harassing” a teenage girl on Sunday. Victim’s father mentioned in his complaint to the police that the girl was alone at home when the accused barged into the house and sexually harassed her. The police have registered a case under Sections 354 and 452 of the IPC against him. No arrest has been made so far.
