Local lad Karandeep Singh Kochhar bagged the fourth spot in the individual international category and eighth spot overall during the concluding day of the US Teens Golf Championship played at Pinehurst (No. 2) in North Carolina, USA.
He was placed 8th overall among 130 participants from 30 countries, including Thailand, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Mexico, Sweden, Dominion Republic, Hungary, Chinese Taipae, Korea, Japan, Panama, USA, Russia, Singapore, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar and South Africa. Karandeep played in the 15 to 18 age-group and was the only 16-year-old among the top ten rankers in the tournament.
The tournament was won by 18-year-old Paul Chaplate of Costa Rica. The top 20 rankers in the tournament were awarded with silver medals by the US Kids Golf Foundations, USA.
