Blood donation camp held

All staff members of the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, donated blood during a camp organised here today. The camp was organised by the department.

All food inspectors, officers and staff members of the department participated in the camp for the noble cause.

In his address, District Food, Civil Supplies and Controller (DFSC), Dr Nirmal Singh, extolled those, who donated blood. He said it would be used for saving lives of the injured and sick. He added that the blood donation does not weaken donors. He said the body recovers the blood in short-span of time.

Deputy director Luvkesh Sharma also handed over certificates to blood donors.

District Food Supply Officers Raminder Singh Batth and Lakhwinder Singh, AFSO Sandeep Singh, Harmandeep Singh, Dr Navkaran Bhinder, Sandeep Luthra, Parminder Singh Bhatia and Dr Gagandeep Singh were also present on the occasion.
