A delegation of 40 foreign nationals, who adopted Sikhism and are now visiting Amritsar as a part of a religious tour, today went to Golden Temple led by Satpal Singh Khalsa and Bahadur Singh who are escorting them on the trip. The delegation was received by Harcharan Singh, chief secretary, Bhai Ram Singh of the interim committee and Roop Singh, secretary, who presented them a Siropa, religious books and a Golden Temple replica.
Expressing their happiness, the delegation members said they felt overwhelmed by the honour and looked forward to visit some significant places of Sikh religious history in and around the city. They will move to attend the grand celebrations of the 350th Prakash Utsav to be held on Januray 2 at Patna Saheb, Bihar. The 40-member team comprises nationals from China, USA, England, Russia, Canada and Argentina. Harcharan Singh, addressing the delegation, said the SGPC would assist them in every possible manner to carry forward their trip without any hiccups.
“We are grateful to them for having adopted the principles and values of Sikhism with grace. We will provide access to the religious knowledge bank and resources to them in order to increase their understanding of the community.”
