Valley’s well-known businessman Sheikh Ashiq Ahmed was elected the new president of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
The chamber announced the names of the newly elected body after its 84th annual general meeting held here on Saturday.
Nasir Hamid Khan was elected as the senior vice-president, Abdul Majid Mir as the junior vice-president, Farooq Amin as the secretary general, Sheikh Gowher Ali as the joint secretary general and Manzoor Ahmad Pakhtoon as the treasurer of the chamber.
Meanwhile, Mushtaq Ahmed Chaya, chairman, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kashmir chapter, congratulated the new team.
“I am very pleased to extend my congratulations on behalf of the PHD Chamber to the new team of office-bearers. I would also like to take this opportunity to reaffirm my appreciation and support to the chamber for promoting trade and commerce of Kashmir. We wish the chamber and all of its members success and prosperity,” Chaya said.
