Seven youths of Kanakwal, four from Sekhu and one each from Giana, Bhaga, Rama and Tarkhanwala villages got jobs at call centres of telecom companies in Chandigarh after undergoing three-month training from Nitcon, held in association with Guru Gobind Singh Refinery.
The refinery arranged for the training and provided financial support to these 15 candidates. Job offer letters were distributed during a function organised by Nitcon and Guru Gobind Singh Refinery at Phullokhari Training Centre by Martin Hawkins, COO, Guru Gobind Singh Refinery, HMEL.
Charanjeet Singh, AGM, human leadership, addressed the gathering and appreciated the support and participation of villagers in various CSR initiatives of the refinery.
Sarpanchs and panchyat members of Phullokhari, Kanakwal, Giana, Sekhu, Tarkhanwala, Bagha and Raman were present during the ceremony.
Nitcon AGM Vijay Arora and officials from the refinery, Waheguru Pal Singh, Rajnish Mathur, Jiwanjot Singh and Vikrant Puri motivated the village youth to participate in courses of skill development to secure their future.
