8-year-old dies in accident

Muktsar: An eight-year-old girl died in a road mishap near Rupana village here on Saturday. The mishap took place when a motorcyclist was trying to evade a pothole and collided with another bike. The deceased was identified as Jaspreet Kaur of Gidderbaha. The police have started an investigation. TNS

Schools told to promote libraries

Amritsar: The Education Department has issued instructions on use of library books for school heads of government schools and district education officials for students. The school heads have been asked to encourage students to read books in the library. The best library readers must be chosen and morning assemblies must be used for motivating students to use libraries. Students may be asked about general knowledge questions, current affairs for which students are required to find answers from their school libraries. The students can be connected to the idea of e-library by making various multiple social media groups such as WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. TNS
