Bathinda, May 30

As the Class XII results have been announced, Government Rajindra College is all set to begin the online admission registration process on its official website — grcb.ac.in — in the first week of June.

Earlier, Punjabi University, Patiala, had made it mandatory for the applicants to apply on the website of the university — pupcollegeadmissions.org — as well as on the website of the college in which they wish to take admission. But this time, the applicants need to only apply on the college website.

Satveer Singh, officiating principal of the college, said, “As of now, we have not received any guidelines from the university for the applicants to get them registered on the university and college websites. So far, the applicants need to get themselves registered on the college website. If we receive guidelines from the university making it mandatory to register on the university website as well, we will send SMS alerts to the applicants.”

He said this year, BSc (computer application) will be known as BSc with Computer Science and BSc (Hons) Economics will be called BSc (Hons) School in Economics.

Applicants and their relatives, who are making rounds of Government Rajindra College to check the status of admission, have heaved a sigh of relief after they came to know that the admission registration process will start within a few days.

Private colleges in the region have already started making efforts to grab the attention of students. Some of the colleges have even started the online admission process.
