Hunardeep, Navneet show nerves in 90s

Hunardeep Kaur from Millennium School and Navneet Kaur from Delhi Public School secured 98.8 percent marks each in the Class XII CBSE exams, the results of which were declared on Thursday. Both students excelled in the humanities stream.

Elated over her achievement, Hunardeep said, “Studying for six to eight hours daily and investing equal time for all subjects proved to be handy. Apart from studying concepts thoroughly, I used to keep a regular tab on current affairs as well. The credit goes to my parents and school teachers who ensured a conducive environment to prepare well and score good marks.”

On being asked about her future plans, Hunardeep added, “I want to complete my Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University and prepare for the Civil Services examination.”

Kamaljit Singh, father of Hunardeep, who is associate professor at Punjabi University Regional Centre, said, “It is the hard work and sheer dedication of my daughter that has bore fruit.” Hunardeep’s mother is also a teacher in a government school in Mansa district.

Sangeeta Saxena, principal of Millennium School, congratulated Hunarpreet, her parents and other students who secured good marks in the CBSE exams.

Navneet said, “After securing good marks in Class X, I was asked to take up the science stream, but I chose to study humanities. I knew that I would excel in it. I was studying for six to eight hours on a daily basis throughout the year. During the exams, I increased the time and studied for 12-14 hours a day.”

She said, “I want to pursue BA (honors) from Delhi University and opt for the teaching profession after that.”

The parents of Navneet are lecturers in Government Senior Secondary School, Bhagta Bhai Ka.

Navneet’s father Jaswant Singh said, “It is indeed a proud moment for us. Navneet always wanted to pursue her higher education in humanities from a reputed university or college. Now, the dream will come true.”

Aparajita Chatterjee from Delhi Public School secured 97.60 per cent marks.

Students of Saint Joseph’s Convent School also performed well with Parkhi Gupta securing 96.4 per cent in the commerce stream, Dhiral Sandhu 95.8 per cent in humanities and Mohpreet 93.8 per cent in the science stream.

Arshit Garg of DAV Senior Secondary School bagged 96.8 per cent marks in the commerce stream. Yogesh secured 97 per cent marks in humanities to top the school.

Students of Lord Rama Public School also excelled with Abhishek securing 95.2 per cent in commerce, Arshiya 95 per cent in science and Kashish 93.2 per cent in humanities.

Eashaan Aggarwal, a student of Saint Xavier’s School, secured 96 per cent marks in humanities. Anmol Bansal of the same school bagged 95.6 per cent in commerce and Priyanka scored 92.2 per cent marks in the science stream to bag top positions in the school.

Harmanjot Singh of Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School bagged the first position in the medical stream with 90.4 per cent marks. Jashanpreet Singh got the first position in non-medical stream with 87.2 per cent marks. In the commerce stream, Manjot Singh secured 91.4 percent to top the school.
