City residents are affected due to the stray dog menace in the city. The terror of stray dog has increased to such extent in some areas that it has become difficult for kids, women and old aged people to come out of their houses.
A delegation of residents of Kamla Nehru Colony today came to MCB office to lodge a complaint over the stray cattle menace in their area. They first went to Mayor office, but he was available at the office, then they went to the senior deputy mayor Tarsem Goyal office, where they stated that stray dog menace is a serious threat to them in their area, due to which MCB should do something to tackle this.
They also claimed that registration of pet dogs should be started and even dog shelter home should be made so that stray dogs should be shifted there and lives of residents could be saved which presently are constantly under serious threat.
They claimed that two days back, stray dog attacked MCB employee who had come in their area for the work, but he was rescued by the women standing nearby.
Later, they told that Mayor Balwant Rai Nath and senior deputy Mayor Tarsem Goyal should come to their area and access the situation as dogs keep on roaming on the roads and parks in the area.
They also alleged that tall claims of sterilization of dogs is done by MCB, but despite the population of canine is increasing.
In the afternoon, Mayor Balwant Rai Nath and Senior deputy Mayor Tarsem Goyal visited the Kamla Nehru Colony and review the situation there.
They assured the residents that this problem would be resolved soon as wall would be built in the Kamla Nehru colony and adjoining slum area as residents had stated that stray dogs come from the slum area adjoining the colony.
