The Telecom startup space has been booming with telecom ventures and start-ups that are providing unique services. blackNgreen, the brainchild of Rahul Gupta and Karthik Shankar, is one such start-up that has carved a niche for itself in this space. that was launched in 2011. Before starting blackNgreen in 2011, Rahul had worked with various technology companies where he had developed passion for studying the latest technologies in the telecommunication sector. blackNgreen is a leading technology company, offering an array of mobile value added services and revolutionary telecom products, growing at an exponential rate from the year it was incorporated. By the introduction of innovative services like Datacom, @home, SmartLine, Magic Voice and Brahma Platform into the global Telecom market with easy accessibility; the company generated Topline revenue of Rs 400 crore for Telecos this year. Rahul Gupta shares the success journey of his start up:
I always aspired to become an entrepreneur and offer business solutions that would disrupt the existing market. My experience with the telecom companies and industry made me delve deeper into it and bring revolutionary innovations to telecom operators. When I found myself capable of engineering Value Added Products and solutions, I collaborated with Karthik Shankar to launch this tech-driven organisation.
Selecting the right team is the biggest challenge as it is the people who make all the difference. Otherwise, for us LATAM has been the toughest market to crack owing to the big language barrier and geographical limitation. However we have made rapid entries in past one year by launching services across 18 Operators of Digicel Group and now launching across Telfonica Group and several more are in pipeline. We have recently inaugurated our branch office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to help our growing operations in the region. CIS is another market that is going to be next on our target and comes with the same challenges.
We have disrupted five major segments in Telecom Industry, successfully running operations in 97 accounts spanning across five continents and 61 countries in APAC, MEA, SEA, and LATAM, touched 220 million users and counting.
The focus is on expanding our Gaming portfolio rapidly in coming months, with interesting games on all three platforms (IVR, WAP and APP). We recently launched the App version of Magic Voice called Magic Call. It's already gone Viral in India with 3 million downloads. We are going to launch it in another 50 countries in three months' time. We would also be expanding our presence in at least 20 more countries in 2019.
