Ambala, June 9

The Ambala police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder case of EASI Suresh Kumar, who was shot dead on June 2 in Naraingarh.

The suspects have been identified as Prince, a resident of Mahesh Nagar, Rahul Kumar, a resident of Mahesh Nagar, and Subham, alias Ritik, a resident of Mahesh Nagar, Ambala Cantonment. Rahul originally belongs to Kanpur.

Sources said Prince was involved in other cases of the Arms Act and Section 307 of the IPC too.

Suresh Kumar was deployed as the security person of Rambir, an eyewitness to the murder of JBT teacher Session Kumar Judge.

On Sunday, they were produced before a court, which sent them to five-day police remand. The police will recover the pistol used in the crime and also obtain the information about their criminal records and links with other criminals during their remand.

The Ambala police had earlier nabbed a 16-year-old in connection with the murder case. The juvenile belongs to Naraingarh. He had helped a suspect, who had opened fire while escaping. He had dropped the shooter on his motorcycle near Kurali village.

Meanwhile, the police have also added some more sections to the case. Earlier, the case was registered under Sections 302 and 34 of the IPC and

Section 25 of the Arms Act. However, the police have now added Sections 307, 506 and 120-B of the IPC to the case.

Amit Bhatia, Naraingarh DSP, said: “More sections have been added to the case and the investigation is on.”

Though Vijay Kumar, brother of Session Kumar Judge, and Rambir have been claiming that the target was Rambir, the police are yet to make a statement in this regard.

Superintendent of Police Mohit Handa said: “Information regarding their motive and involvement of more people in the crime will be gathered during the remand.”

About the claims that the target was Rambir, the SP said: “It will be too early to make any comment on this as the investigation is on. They might be linked with that case, but let us be sure first and then we will reveal other information. Their previous records are being checked.”
