CHANDIGARH:Arnav of Gurukul Global School defeated Samarth Sharma 11-9 11-8 8-11 11-8 to win the boys’ U-15 title on the penultimate day of the Chandigarh State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at the Sector 50 Sports Complex here today.

Chandigarh, August 10

Arnav of Gurukul Global School defeated Samarth Sharma 11-9 11-8 8-11 11-8 to win the boys’ U-15 title on the penultimate day of the Chandigarh State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at the Sector 50 Sports Complex here today.

Earlier, in the semifinals, Arnav blanked Harkeerat 11-9 11-8 11-8, while Samarth registered an 11-2 11-5 11-8 win over Aariv Goel.

The girls’ U-15 title went to Pelf of Learning Paths School, Mohali. She humbled Neha of Manav Mangal High School, Sector 21, 11-9 11-4 7-11 11-8 in the final. In the semifinals, Neha drubbed Priyanshi 3-0, while Pelf overcame Manal 3-1.

In the boys’ U-18 competition, Sachit of Adarsh TT Academy overcame a tough challenge from Jashan of Gurukul Global School to clinch the title. Sachit won 11-6 11-7 6-11 4-11 11-5. 

In the semis, Sachit downed Arnav 11-9 12-10 11-8, while Jashan edged out Krish Gupta 11-6 11-9 9-11 11-7. 

Vasundhara of Sacred Heart School, Sector 26, registered an 11-9 8-11 11-7 11-9 win over Arshita in the girl’s U-18 title clash. Earlier, Vasundhara overcame Pelf 11-6 9-11 5-11 11-8 11-7 and Arshita drubbed Deevanshi 11-9 11-6 11-8 in the semifinals.

Shaurya Raj of GGDSD College, Sector 32, rallied to beat Ishan Kapoor of DAV Public School, Sector 8, in the boys’ U-21 final. Shaurya won 10-12 7-11 11-8 12-10 11-3. In the semis, Shaurya prevailed 11-9 8-11 11-9 11-8 against Arnav Aggarwal, while Kapoor dumped Pawan 11-9 11-8 11-9.

In the girls’ U-21 final, Deevanshi of St Kabir School, Sector 26, defeated Pelf 11-8 9-11 11-7 11-7. 

Deevanshi, earlier, registered an 11-8 11-8 9-11 11-7 win over Vibhuti, while Pelf came from behind to beat Arshita 8-11 9-11 11-7 11-8 11-9 in the semifinals.
