Chandigarh: The eighth annual sports meet of Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior was held at the Sports Complex, Sector 7-B, Chandigarh. Vineeta Arora, Senior Principal, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, Chandigarh, was the guest of honour on the occasion.



Chandigarh: The eighth annual sports meet  of Bhavan Vidyalaya Junior was held  at the Sports Complex, Sector 7-B, Chandigarh. Vineeta Arora, Senior Principal, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, Chandigarh, was the guest of honour on the occasion. The event commenced with the release of colourful balloons. A drill display involving mass student participation enticed those present on the occasion. The wings drill by  Class V students  displayed courage, hard work, skill and brilliance. Parents of students also participated in the lemon and spoon, besides needle and thread race. The track and field events held during the function include 100 mtr, 200mtr, 400 mtr and 800 mtr races for different categories. Students also competed in three-legged race, pithu race,  hurdle race and marathon. Winners were given medals and certificates by Principal Soma Mukhopadhyay. TNS

AKSIPS -45 Smart School

Chandigarh: Law officers Rajeshar Singh and Ishmeet Singh inaugurated the Legal Literacy Club at AKSIPS -45 Smart School. They addressed  25 members of the club and made them aware of the legal programmes for students on different topics, including their duties, fundamental rights, rise of  cyber crime , crime against women, women’s rights, good and bad touch, the POCSO Act, traffic rules and road accidents on the occasion. Learning Paths School 

Mohali: The annual athletics meet of Learning Paths School was held at the Sports Complex, Sector 7, Chandigarh. Students from Class VII to Xth took part in various competitions, including 800 mt race, 1,500 mt race, discuss throw, long jump and shotput. The meet was declared opened  with a march past by students, followed by a torch relay amidst cheers and applause by sportspersons, who brought laurels for the school at the state, national and international levels. “Such endeavour gives a boost to children, sportsmanship and help them understand their culture, which needs to be inculcated in them right from the beginning,” said Nutan Budhiraja, Principal, Learning Paths School. Gian Jyoti Global School

Mohali: Students of Gian Jyoti Global School brought laurels  by winning four gold medals at the 64th School State Games in the U-17 category, held at Patiala. Tamanna Sharma of Class X won four gold medals in balancing beam, uneven bar, vaulting table and as all round best in gymnastics. She was also selected for the National School Games-2018 to be held in Tripura from December 15 to 19. Three other students of the school were also selected for the National School Games-2018. Gurvir Kaur of Class XI (Non-medical) was selected in swimming; Mohit Rana of Class X in handball and Prabhleen Kaur of Class III in skating.  TNS

Indus Public School

Kharar: International Energy Day was observed at Indus Public School, Badala Road. Students apprised audience about the need to conserve energy. They promoted the idea of energy conservation to encourage use renewable sources of energy. They  highlighted growing concerns about the environmental degradation. Students recited poems to show their gratitude to the Mother Earth on the occasion. TNS

Vidya Valley School

Kharar: A workshop on corruption was organised at Vidya Valley School, New Sunny Enclave,  to create awareness among children against issue. Simranjit Singh Bains, zone in charge, Malwa 2, anti-narcotics cell, and Harpreet Singh Khalsa, coordinator, Malwa 1 and 2 anti-narcotics cell, were the chief guests on the occasion. Students also delivered speeches on corruption and enacted a play during the workshop. Bains motivated students to unite against corruption for development, peace and security. TNS
