Bowlers lead British School to victory

CHANDIGARH:Dinesh, Parmish and Uday claimed three wickets each to help The British School, Sector 44, register a nine-wicket win over St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, in the opening match of the inaugural The Tribune Inter-School T20 Cricket Championship at the Mahajan Cricket Grounds here on Friday.

Chandigarh, January 25

Dinesh, Parmish and Uday claimed three wickets each to help The British School, Sector 44, register a nine-wicket win over St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, in the opening match of the inaugural The Tribune Inter-School T20 Cricket Championship at the Mahajan Cricket Grounds here on Friday. 

Electing to bowl, the trio bundled out St Xavier’s for a below-par 46. Dinesh claimed 3/6, while Parmish took 3/10. Uday returned with figures of 3/15. Japnam made 11 runs, while Aniket added 10 runs to St Xavier’s total.

In reply, The British School romped home in just 6.4 overs with nine wickets to spare. 

Akshit scored a 14-ball 29, while Uday Partap made an unbeaten 18.

Khushpreet claimed the only wicket to fall in the British School innings. Dinesh was awarded Man of the Match for his bowling.
