Cultural bonanza organised

A cultural bonanza was organised on the school premises. The programme started with recitation of ''shabad'' followed by the lighting of the lamp ceremony by Prerna Puri (IAS), Director, Census Operations, Haryana, the members of the governing council and Principal Gurnam Kaur Grewal.

Guru Nanak Public, Chandigarh

A cultural bonanza was organised on the school premises. The programme started with recitation of 'shabad' followed by the lighting of the lamp ceremony by Prerna Puri (IAS), Director, Census Operations, Haryana, the members of the governing council and Principal Gurnam Kaur Grewal. The annual report was read by the principal highlighting the academic and sports achievements of the school. Prizes were given to the winners and the staff of the school for their hard work put in throughout the session by the chief guest. Events such as fairy land, we love flowers, group song, radiation free earth, save water, plastic-free city and chipko movement. 

Stepping Stones, Chandigarh 

A shoe donation drive in association with NGO Sharp and Bata Shoes was organised wherein students donated their old shoes. Every child received a pair of socks from Bata shoes for each pair of shoe they donated. Through this activity, the students also learnt some important life lessons around compassion, empathy, and the joy of giving.

Satluj Public, Sector 4, Panchkula

Students celebrated White Cane Day with a visit to the Institute for Blind, Sector 26, Chandigarh, to learn about the achievements of people who are visually impaired. The children inspired others and felt motivated to see how the students at the institute used white cane as a tool of independence. 

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh 

A legal conclave at DPS, Chandigarh, concluded on Wednesday. On the last day, six semi-finalists took part in 'Vidhigya', a quiz, which was followed by a debate competition titled 'Vidhi Sangyan'. Rohit Ghangas and Harshit of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh secured the third position the quiz competition. The second position was bagged by Jugaad Singh and Jasmeen Kaur of DPS, Chandigarh, and the winners were Prabhroop and Geetika Bhatia of DPS, Chandigarh. Bhavan Vidyalaya was the runners-up in the debate while the winning team of Carmel Convent secured the Best Speaker Award. The Overall Winner's Trophy and cash prize of Rs 3,000 was bagged by Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh

Gian Jyoti Global, Mohali 

The school organised ‘Say no to plastic’ campaign to spread the awareness among the masses about the hazardous effects of plastic on environment and human beings at Phase-7, Market, Mohali. Principals and students of Shivalik Public School, Mohali, Paragon SSS, Mohali, Maxim Merry School, Kharar, Henderson Jubilee School, Kharar, and Infant Jesus Convent School, Phase-11, Mohali took part in the campaign. 

Aanchal International, Chandigarh 

An inter-school rangoli competition was held on the school premises. Students from Aanchal International School, Aashiana Public School, AKSIPS Sector -45, Divya Public School, Kundan International School and SGGS Sector - 35, participated in the event. SGGS, Sector -35 bagged the first position, the host Aanchal International School bagged the second position and Divya Public School bagged the third position. 

MJS Ramgarhia Public, Chandigarh  

A carnival was celebrated on the school premises with fervour. A number of stalls were set up with interesting games such as ball in the circle, coin in the bangle, toy in the pot, toss the ring, camel riding, among others. The baby show competition and singing and dancing competition were the main attraction of the event.

St John’s High School, Chandigarh

The annual sports day and athletic meet of the senior section of St John’s High School, Chandigarh was held with great fervour and enthusiasm. The chief guest of the event was Justice Ajay Tiwari of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. He is also one of the illustrious alumni of the school. He expressed great pleasure on being a part of the wonderful event commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of the school.

Delhi Public School, Mohali

A short-skit and a special assembly were among a slew of events held today to mark Diwali at Delhi Public School, Mohali. In the short-skit, the students emphasised that bursting of crackers had become a major problem as it caused pollution and harmed animals. They highlighted on the importance of saying ‘no to crackers’ and urged children to be sensitive to environment by celebrating a clean and cracker-free Diwali.
