Headmaster shifted following protest

The Education Department has shifted the headmaster of Government High School, Gadapur, Kulwant Singh, following a protest by teachers and parents of students studying in the school yesterday. He has now been deputed in the District Education Office, Patiala, and the charge of the school has been given to the headmaster of Government High School, Jand Mangoli.

Demanding transfer of the school headmaster and his son, who is working in the same school as drawing teacher, a large number of teachers and parents had locked the main gate of the school yesterday. They alleged that Kulwant Singh and his son were vitiating the school atmosphere and used to interfere in the teaching practices of other teachers who were working in the school.

However, Kulwant Singh had rubbished the claims saying that he had recommended action against one of the teachers working in the school, who had misled other teachers and parents to organise a dharna against him.
