CHANDIGARH: Haryana defeated Delhi to win the final of the sixth Senior National Rugby Sevens (men) Championship at Panjab University. Haryana overpowered Delhi 14-10 to retain the title.

Odisha team in a jubilant mood after winning the Sixth Senior Rugby Sevens National Championship at the Panjab University grounds on Sunday.

Chandigarh, June 24

Haryana defeated Delhi to win the final of the sixth Senior National Rugby Sevens (men) Championship at Panjab University. Haryana overpowered Delhi 14-10 to retain the title. In the semifinals, Haryana outplayed West Bengal 22-0 and Delhi overpowered Maharashtra 17-5. Odisha won the women’s title by defeating West Bengal 12-0. In the semifinals, West Bengal defeated Bihar 45-5, while Odisha blanked Maharashtra 15-10. The winners of both the categories were awarded with trophies and cash awards by Rugby India. 

The trials for the women’s rugby team for the Asian Games will be held from June 25 to 27.
