Kaimbala, Sarangpur spikers in final

Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Kaimbala, will face GMSSS, Sarangpur, in the boys' volleyball final at the inaugural Rural Sports Meet organised by the UT Sports Department at the Sarangpur Sports Complex here on Wednesday. 

In the semifinals played today, Kaimbala boys defeated Government Senior Secondary School, Mauli Jagran, 25-16 25-22, while GMSSS, Sarangpur, registered a 25-10 25-12 win over GMSSS, Dhanas.

Meanwhile, in the girls' final, GMSSS, Dhanas, defeated Government Senior Secondary School, Khuda Lahora, to claim the gold. 

GMSSS, Kaimbala, finished second after beating Government Model School, Raipur Kalan, in the third-place playoff. 

In kho-kho, GMSSS, Behlana, defeated Government High School, Hallomajra, by an inning and 10 points to set up the title clash with GMSSS, Dhanas. 

Dhanas boys defeated Government Senior Secondary School, Khuda Lahora, by an inning and one point. 

In the girls' semis, Government Senior Secondary School, Khuda Lahora, registered an inning and 10-point win over Government High School, Hallomajra, while GMSSS, Kaimbala, beat GMSSS, Dhanas, by six points. 

Gursaran wins gold

Gursaran defeated Farman to win the gold medal in the 35kg category wrestling competition. Abhishek claimed the bronze medal. 

Vikram, Gaurav and Tanuj claimed the top three positions, respectively, in the 45kg category, while in the 55kg category, Sahil beat Ekam to pocket the gold medal. Ronak bagged the bronze medal.
