To the relief of commuters, the Kharar-Kurali four-laning project will be complete by December-end.
The work was allotted to MG Contractor Pvt Ltd and Arvind Techno Engineers Pvt Ltd. The estimated cost of the project was about Rs 457 crore. A 16.8-KM service road was to be constructed on both sides of the road besides the construction of three underpasses for vehicles, three pedestrian underpasses, 13 culverts and four bus shelters. As many as 57.64 hectares were to be acquired for the project, of which 50.97 hectares have already been acquired.
Krishan Sachdeva, manager (technical), NHAI, said most of the construction work had been completed and their target was to complete the project by December-end. He said a railway bridge, which was to be constructed on the bypass from Padila village to Banmajra was in the advanced stage of construction and expected to be completed within two months. He said major part of the road had already been completed and it had been opened for the traffic.
