Chandigarh, October 9

A retired bank officer has been arrested on charges of assualt or use of criminal force on woman with intent to disrobe her.

The police said girls, who were staying in a rented flat at a society in Sector 49, submitted a complaint against the landlord, Davinder, a resident of Sector 48.

Police sources said someone had told the accused that boys often visited the flat to meet the girls. He went to the flat this morning. The accused went inside the room, where the girls were sleeping, without knocking at the door.

“Female friends of the girl who stays in the flat had come from Delhi to meet her and they were sleeping in the room. The accused allegedly went to their room  and removed the blankets under which the girls were sleeping. The girls were not properly dressed when the accused removed the blankets,” the sources said.

The girls submitted a complaint after which the accused tendered an apology. However, the girls demanded a police case against the accused. A case under Sections 354-B  and 452 of the IPC has been  registered against the accused. The accused will be produced in the court tomorrow.
