Monday to be observed as holiday in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: On account of the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore has announced a public holiday in all government offices/boards/corporations/institutions, including industrial establishments.

Chandigarh, November 10

On account of the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Nanak Dev, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore has announced a public holiday in all government offices/boards/corporations/institutions, including industrial establishments, under the Chandigarh Administration on Monday (November 11).

The holiday will also be observed in all government and private educational institutions in the city. Schools will remain closed on Tuesday too and will reopen on Wednesday. 

However, the holiday has not been announced under the Negotiable Instruments Act. Banks will remain open.
