An inter-school science quiz competition for students of Classes IX and X was organised by Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, Chandigarh, on the school premises. The competition started with a preliminary round in which 10 MCQ’s were asked. Six teams were selected for the final round. Ajit Karam Singh International School, Sector 41, Chandigarh, won the competition while Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh, was runner-up.

SIS Public School, Mohali

The annual function of SIS Public School, Phase VII, was celebrated with great zeal and vigour. The event commenced the lamp-lighting ceremony by school director Hardeep Kaur Gill and chief guest MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu and Anjali Chhabra, Deputy Director, CBSE; and guest of honour Aarish Chhabra. Students of nursery presented a vibrant and colourful performance “Cutie pies”. Students of Classes III to V enacted inspirational plays “Child safety” and “Dhongi baba”.

Gem Public Sr Sec School, Mohali

A capacity building programme on gender sensitivity was organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, at Gem Public School Senior Secondary School, 3B2, Mohali. Resource person Anuja Sharma, DAV Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 15, Chandigarh, kept the audience mesmerised through her inspirational speech and interesting activities. As many as 62 teachers from different school participated in the seminar.

GMHS School, Khudda Jassu

An introductory programme on herbal plants was organised at GMHS School, Khudda Jassu. TS Natyal, IFS Chief Conservator of Forest and Wildlife, made students aware of importance of herbal plants. Om Parkash, Principal Coordinator of Eco-Club (government schools), made the students aware about the uses of different medicinal plants.

Saupin’s School, Panchkula

Saupin’s School, Panchkula, organised a three-day educational trip to Agra-Fatehpur Sikri-Delhi for students of Classes VI to X. The students enjoyed their visit to different tourist spots such as Taj Mahal, Akshardham, Fatehpur Sikri etc. They also explored local markets and enjoyed the sightseeing of local areas. TNS
