Muskan off to a winning start

PANCHKULA:Chandigarh’s Muskan Taya drubbed Khushi Boora 21-4 21-6 in a girls’ U-19 tie on the opening day of the inaugural Ashwani Gupta Memorial Tricity Prize Money Badminton Tournament at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex here on Friday.

Chandigarh’s Muskan Taya drubbed Khushi Boora 21-4 21-6 in a girls’ U-19 tie on the opening day of the inaugural Ashwani Gupta Memorial Tricity Prize Money Badminton Tournament at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex here on Friday. 

Jasmin Rawat of Mohali got the better of Jagriti Nashier. Jasmin was leading 21-9 21-4 when her opponent decided to concede the match.

Ridhi Kaur Toor registered a 21-9 21-7 win over Chandigarh’s Mansi Negi, while Rizul Saini downed Garvita Yadav 21-11 21-19. Sarushi Kanwar, also from Chandigarh, humbled Naina Goyat 21-16 21-7. Naina though beat Akanksha Singh 21-16 21-17 later in the day.

Rizul won her second match of the day with a 21-12 21-9 win over Tisha Giri. — TNS
