Fatehgarh Sahib, April 19
The most polluted industrial town of Punjab, Mandi Gobindgarh, will be made clean. An action plan for implementing various steps to make the town pollution-free has been prepared and implemented soon, said Deputy Commissioner Kanwalpreet Brar.
In a meeting here on Thursday, the DC directed officials of the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB), the Municipal Council and the District Town Planning (DTP) to take immediate necessary action for shifting of industrial units from residential areas in compliance with the policy of the state government. She also directed the PWSSB and Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Mandi Gobindgarh, to lay a sewer line in areas where the facility was not available. — OC
