The Yuva Uthan Samiti, Lucknow, staged a Hindi comedy play titled “The Great Raja Master Drama Company” on 14th day of the Hasya Natya Mahotsava at the Tagore Theatre today.
Written by Dinesh Bharti and directed by Raja Awasthi, the play explored psyche of an over ambitious tailor master, Raja, who after suffering loss in tailoring business ventures into theatre. Sans any experience or aesthetic potential, Raja tailor, dreaming to become a successful and rich theatre director opens “The Great Raja Master Drama Company” without taking into account the risks involved therein.
Raja, in the new role of a director faces a piquant situation as her heroine playing protagonist “Ananarkali” ditches him and he invites similar problems. His actions create funny situations which kept the audience in good humour as he finally
gives in to return to his previous business.
Chief guest Kamal Arora chairman CSNA and Mukesh Sharma honoured the artistes. Anchor Rakesh Arora disclosed that the curtains would fall on the fortnight-long festival with the staging of ‘Sudama ke Chawal’ tomorrow.
