Residents fume as builder fails to clear power dues

Residents of New Sunny Enclave, Sector 123, were forced to spend their entire day without electricity as the builder allegedly failed to pay electicity bill to the department concerned.

Pankaj Chauhan, secretary, Residents Welfare Association, New Sunny Enclave, said initially, they were informed that there was no electricity supply due to technical glitch. He said, later on, they came to know that electricity supply was disconnected by the PSPCL as the builder (Bajwa Developers), had not cleared full bill.

He said there were more than 100 families living in Sector 123, and they were not provided permanent electricity connections.

Chauhan said they were getting electricity supply through the builder and were making payment directly to him only.

When contacted Gaurav Kamboj, SDO, Electricity, conformed that the supply was disconnected as the builder had not paid the entire payment. He said they did receive the part payment and electricity supply would be resorted in evening.
