Chandigarh: Saupin’s School beat Learning Paths School by seven wickets to win the 13th St Kabir Under-12 Boys’ Trophy. Learning Paths elected to bat first and scored 89/6 in 20 overs. Chatnaya scored 30 runs off 28 balls. Arshdeep took two wickets. Saupin’s scored 93/3 in 18.2 overs. Meet scored 39 runs off 58 balls, while Divjot scored 26 runs off 30 balls.
SGGC Club, CBC men win on Day 2
Chandigarh: SGGS Club and CBC were the big winner in the men’s section on the second day of the Senior State Basketball Championship. SGGS Club beat Dynamic Club 61-42, while CBC beat Rising Star Club 43-26. In the women’s section, SGGSCW-26 beat PGGGC-11 53-30, while GNPS Club beat Zyphers Club 45-25.
Double delight in baseball
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh boys’ and girls’ teams won gold medals in the 65th National School Games under-19 baseball tournament. While the boys’ team edged past Madhya Pradesh 2-1, the girls overcame Delhi 4-2 in the finals. The Chhattisgarh boys and the Maharashtra girls won the bronze medals.
City girls’ team wins fencing gold
Chandigarh: Chandigarh secured the top spot in the girls’ epee team event in the 65th National School Games under-19 fencing tournament here today. Kerala finished second, while Punjab and Gujarat won the bronze medal. The Chandigarh teams secured the silver medals in the boys’ and girls’ foil categories and the boys’ sabre event. In the boys’ foil team event, Punjab finished on the top.
Sports fest in Mohali today
Mohali: The opening ceremony of Sportsaga Fest will be held at Manav Rachna International School, Sector 82, here today. The festival includes team games like cricket, football, basketball and volleyball, while individual games will include badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis, chess, carom and shooting.

Punjab Special Olympics kicks off
Mohali: The three-day 22nd Punjab State Special Olympics (Mohali Chapter) kicked off to a grand start at the Rayat Bahra University here today. Over 600 athletes with intellectual disabilities from more than 60 special schools from across Punjab will compete in 32 events during the mega sports event.
