Two cases of suicide reported

CHANDIGARH:A 25-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Mauli Jagran.

Two cases of suicide have been reported from the city.

A 25-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Mauli Jagran. Sources said the victim had been identified as Neha, a resident of Chaman Colony in Mauli Jagran. The victim was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. No suicide note was found from the spot. The victim is survived by her husband and a son. Inquest proceedings have been initiated by the police.

In the other incident, a 30-year-old man reportedly committed suicide by taking poison here on Thursday. Sources said the victim, identified as Saurabh Gupta, a resident of Panchkula, took poison in his car in Chandigarh. The victim had come to drop his relative. He informed his cousin before taking the extreme step. The victim was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, where he later died. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
