In the winter schedule released by Chandigarh International Airport Limited (CHIAL) to be implemented from October 29 to December 2, the number of flights operating at the airport is expected to increase to 30. At present, 28 flights operate at the airport.
CHIAL CEO Sunil Dutt said, “There may be some changes in the schedule by the airline carriers. Another fresh schedule would be released after December 2.”
In the new schedule, Air India, Jet Airways and IndiGo airlines will operate seven flights each. SpiceJet will operate four flights. There is no change in the flight operations of Vistara and Air Asia.
According to sources, the airport is expected to remain closed for 15 days for runway upgradation in December or January.
New flights to Delhi
Air India has announced a new Delhi-Chandigarh-Delhi flight from October 30. The aircraft will be 72-seater. The flight will operate on six days from Monday to Saturday. It will arrive at the airport at 6.55 am and depart at 7.25 am.
GoAir, which was earlier operating one flight, has added a flight to Delhi.
